Breach - Jack

On Friday, the alter ego of Ben Westbeech, otherwise known as BrEaCh released a hypnotic and hairy visual component for his latest single, ‘Jack.’ The furry video chants “I want your body | everybody wants your body…” and as a mantra it provokes even the viewer to let their hair down… and JACK.  Haircuts advised: www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0EiujcV3Tg
‘Jack’ + remixes from Mak & Pasteman and Calibre available for worldwide release on July 14th via dirtybird/Big Beat

“If the name happens to be Jack, then it's not just a name — it's a verb, an invitation, maybe even a command.” -- SPIN
“‘Jack’ is a straightforward bass-heavy house tune; both recalling sentiments of Chicago house and a more futuristic bass groove.” Dancing Astronaut

Bright Young Country Star, Caitlin Rose

Having just been brought to my attention, I can already say Caitlin Rose is the future of country music. Get into it. This Nashville native has been compared to everyone from the Everly Brothers to George Harrison, to Roy Orbison and Carlene Carter, with a recent feature in NPR's Fresh Air Feature. Her sophomore full length, which is out on ATO Records is already making a splash, as well as her live performances. SPIN includes the record in their Best Albums of 2013 (so far,) RedEye listed The Stand-In at #4 in their Top 10 albums of 2013 (so far,) while a recent Yours Truly session for "Pink Champagne" shows off her vibrant, textured sound.

07.18.13 - Schubas - Chicago, IL
07.19.13 - Turf Club - St. Paul, MN
07.20.13 - High Noon Saloon - Madison, WI

Drowners announce more tour dates including Lollapalooza

New York City's Drowners formed in early 2012 when singer/guitarist Matt Hitt sent some demos he'd written to guitarist Jack Ridley and bassist Erik Snyder, friends he'd met in bars downtown. Drummer Lakis Pavlou joined a few months later and the band began playing shows regularly around the Lower East Side.
They released a 7" in February in the UK called Between Us Girls.

In April, they signed to NY label Frenchkiss. "We liked that Frenchkiss seemed to understand the semantics of being in a band." Their are currently finishing up writing their debut album to be released this fall. Both the label and the band are thrilled for this amazing new partnership. Frenchkiss Records head, Syd Butler exclaims, "We believe this band is ready to take over the world... "

Press Quotes

"The Drowners' 'Long Hair' is just under two minutes of perfectly executed indie-pop bliss with just the right amount of tousled, carefree attitude." - Village Voice

"Unequivocally BritPop." - Fader

"'Long Hair' has Strokes-esque rock riffs and gently placed lyrics with remnants of angsty love triangles of summer flings." - Clash

"Playful, garage rock–evoking ballads like “Long Hair” and “Unzip Your Harrington” tell romanticized stories about suburban teenage angst and fumbly first-time sexual encounters" - Vogue
